Internal Workings
The body incorporates a transverse fuze, with a large protruding cap on each side. One houses the striker mechanism and arming system while the other is a plug retaining the removable detonator. The fuze incorporates a lead-shear arming delay, after which the transverse striker is retained by the central plunger. Pressure aligns a window in the plunger to release the striker onto the detonator assembly.
