Trigger Method:
Gradual pressure on pressure plate. This rotates a locking collar until the striker is released, which flips into a stab-detonator and the mine explodes.

Trigger Weight:
8kg (this weight must be gradual, if suddern pressure is applied the striker locks the rotating collar, which prevents the mine from detonating. This is a counter to mine-clearing charges.

Safety Precautions:
Beware of the SB-33 AR, which includes an anti-handling device which detonates the explosive when the mine is moved a few degrees from horizontal.

Method of Planting:
Either laid by hand or scattered using the SY-AT system.
Usually minefields are mixed with a combination of SB-33 and SB-33 AR mines to complicate the demining process.

Comments:
Very difficult to remove due to its low metal content and conter measures toward overpressure.
